I see myself as a conceptual painter. The idea comes first, and dictates the style and content of the image.
My work should to engage visually, then intellectually. Small pieces often present a single distilled concept; larger ones are meshes of clues, connections, messages and meanings.
Though elements are easy to understand, every piece should have its secrets, being ambiguous enough to bear the weight of the viewer's interpretation.
